I added this but didn't think I needed it. My armrest was pretty secure, but it did make it even better. It was interesting that it didn't come with anything explaining the best way to mount it since it had no hardware with it. The old mounting screws don't work with this additional brace so it would be nice if this came with new hardware. All of the new options should be included as an optional package when buying an armrest.
Easy install. Didnt have to fully remove trim just popped it up.
I wish this was included with the original package set, but the product does improve on the stability of the armrest significantly over the grommets that were held on before.
